Like many who came to Los Angeles a decade ago to build something on the internet, this story began at 1600 Vine Street in Hollywood. Somehow, a remarkable number of us ended up there.
I was 19 years old, fresh to LA, and a very amateur producer who had moved down to help build Cameron Dallas’ YouTube channel, one of the first internet stars. Stro was there too, living with creator Steven Spence in room number 1041 and directing videos for every star in the building.
It was a special time for us. It felt like college.
The years that followed included everything you could imagine: having a hand in countless creator origin stories, generating billions of views each year, building a company out of a series of increasingly less questionable office spaces, and getting to do it all alongside the best teammates.
To everyone who has been part of the Room1041 story, thank you for helping make it what it was. I’m so grateful for you.
If I were to summarize what we’ve contributed to this industry, it’s simple: we know how to make content for the internet. We understand how it works. We know how to build the systems and teams that support it. It’s what we’ve spent the last decade doing.
Which brings us to today.
I’ve never been more energized by what we’re building than I am right now.
Today, we’re announcing Loud.
A branded content studio focused on becoming the YouTube agency of record for the world’s most iconic brands.
Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of getting this show started. It’s been our best year yet - both personally and for the business.
We believe YouTube is the greatest opportunity in media. And we’re on a mission to help the world’s most iconic brands dominate at it.
